A while back, I posted on here an article about the Open Graphics Project. The project has continued to grow, and now you can catch an interview on KernelTrap.org that discusses the current status, details, and future of the project.

Hi,
I've been aware of your effort for sometime.
Currently I use linux 99.9 percent of the time. That said, I have an Nvidia card with proprietary drivers tainting the kernel.
I do a considerable amount of graphics work including 3D modeling, texturing and rendering. I'm in the process of building a new box at the moment. After following the discussion today on groklaw I went on the hunt once more for a linux/opensource based graphics card. With all of the emotion the web can convey I have to say that .... I NEED ONE NOW
